SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS

●It is a rare auto immune disease seen in young female.

●It has grave (Dangerous) prognosis.

●In this disease many organ of body are affected and in 60-70% cases kidney is also involved.



●There is deposition of immune complex at basement membrane, Neutrophils are seen in glomeruli membrane.

Neutrophils are seen in glomeruli with necrosis and fibrosis.

●The wall of capillary becomes thick which give it wire loop look.

●An inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues.

●Lupus (SLE) can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.

RASH WITH FEVER
◆Fatigue

◆Rash and fever

  1. fatigue or feeling tired,
  2. low-grade fever,
  3. loss of appetite,
  4. joint pain ,
  5. muscle aches,
  6. hair loss (alopecia),
  7. arthritis,
  8. ulcers of the mouth and nose,
  9. facial rash ("butterfly rash"),
  10. unusual sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity),
  11. chest pain caused by inflammation of the lining that surrounds the lungs (pleuritis) and the heart (pericarditis), and
  12. poor circulation to the fingers and toes with cold exposure (Raynaud's phenomenon)
