There are several reasons of toothache. It occurs due to changing of weather, constipation, in the period of pregnancy, by exposure to cold, rheumatic pain, bad health, improper cleanliness of the teeth and due to eating too hard or strong things, etc.
Drugs used in the case of toothache:-
- Aconite- If a person is suffering from toothache due to exposure to cold, Aconite 3x should be used.
- Plantago- In the case of any type of toothache, taking Plantago 3 and rubbing its mother tincture on the gums is very effective.
- Kreosote- Using Kreosote 3 is very effective in the cases of offensive breath due to tooth decay by constipation, toothache, etc.
- Pulsatilla- When a person feels toothache due to exposure to cold in the winter season; when someone suck anything in the mouth, he feels pain in his teeth as if any medicine has kept in his mouth; if pain in the teeth has aggravated by eating any hot things or by the bed heat and in the midnight, etc., taking Pulsatilla 30 is very effective.
- Kreosote- If a woman feels toothache in pregnancy period, taking Kreosote 6x is appropriate.
- Belladonna- If the gums feel scratching pain or the teeth feel throbbing pain and patient feels as if pain moves in the gums, etc., Belladonna 3x should be taken to cure such symptoms of the patient.
- Antim-crude- If toothache is aggravated in the evening with the symptoms of coated tongue, to cure such symptoms, Antim-crude 6 should be taken.
- Carbo-veg- If pain occurs in the root of teeth with bleeding from the gums, the mouth becomes dry, patient feels much thirst, pain starts in the teeth by eating anything, etc. symptoms are found in a person, Carbo-veg 12 should be taken.
- Arsenic- Pain starts in the tooth and spread to the temples that is ameliorated by drinking hot beverages. With toothache, he feels as if teeth have become long and when he put teeth upon teeth or drinks cold water, crisping is increased. Thus, to cure such symptoms of the patient with toothache, Arsenic 6 should be used.
- Chamomilla- If patient feels swelled throat due to swelling in the root of the teeth; pain occurs in the teeth due to neuralgic reasons with the feeling as if teeth has become long; pain is aggravated by bed heat and by taking hot beverages, etc., taking Chamomilla 6 is very useful to cure such patient.
- Mercurius- If pain starts due to worms in the teeth; in women, toothache starts in the pregnancy period and moving to another teeth, etc., Mercurius 6 should be taken.
- Spigelia- If toothache starts due to decaying or rubbing the teeth and this type of pain goes on moving; pain is aggravated due to drinking cold water or eating cold things, etc., taking Spigelia 3 is beneficial.
- Sulphur- If toothache occurs due to getting cold air in the teeth; feels as if the teeth have become long; pain in the left part of the back and pain is aggravated at the time of taking meals, etc., Sulphur 6 should be taken.
- Nitric-acid- If toothache starts due to taking mercury with coming additional saliva in the mouth and bleeding from the gums too, etc., for the treatment of such symptoms, taking Nitric-acid 6 is very useful.
- Coffea- If toothache is aggravated due to drinking cold water, Coffea 3x should be taken to cure such pain of the patient.
- Calcarea-fluor- In the condition of thickening dirt on the teeth, using the powder of Calcarea-fluor 12x is beneficial.
- Staphysagria- If the teeth become black, appears black marks on the teeth, appearing ulcers or swelling in the root of the teeth; patient feels pain in the teeth as if something is inserting in them; in women, toothache starts during menses period; becoming the teeth root as swell and white; aggravating pain due to eating or drinking cold things, etc., taking Staphysagria 3 is very useful.
- Arnica, Symphitum, Calendula- If toothache starts after uprooting tooth and planting artificial tooth on that place, Arnica 3x or the mother tincture of Symphitum or Calendula, etc. drugs should be used.
- Rhus-tox- If the patient feels as if teeth have become long with appearing wounds in the teeth, Rhus-tox 3 should be taken.
- Calcarea-Carb- If the symptoms of toothache occurring due to getting cold air or water are found in the patient, using Calcarea-carb 6 is very effective.
- Nux-vomica- In the condition of toothache is due to taking coffee or liquor, Nux-vomica 3x should be used.
- Bryonia- If the patient seems as if teeth have become long with pain in it and pain is aggravated by smoking, using Bryonia 3 is beneficial to cure such symptoms of the patient.
- China- If pain occurs in the teeth or becomes violent in the condition of any disease, taking China 3 is very useful.
- Magnesia-carb-Toothache that is aggravated in the condition of sitting quietly and ameliorated by walking and moving, Magnesia-carb 6 should be taken. Other drugs should be used with above said drugs to cure toothache soon according to its symptoms:- Nux-moschata 1x, Ignatia 6, Hyoscyamus 6, Phosphorus 6, Silica 30, Hepar-sulphur 3, the powder of Magnesia-phos 3x with hot water and Dulkamara 3, etc.
Use of drugs in some particular situations:-
- In the condition of toothache occurring due to getting cold and moist air in the rainy season, any one drug among Dulcamara 6, Merc 3, Nux-mos 2x and Natrum-sulph 3x or 6x, etc. should be taken.
- In the condition of toothache occurring due to arthritis, using any of the drug among these drugs is very effective like- Chamomilla 6, Bryonia 3, Aconite 3x and Cimicifuga 6, etc.
- If symptoms like- shivering and pain in the teeth are found in the patient due to getting cold air in the winter season, using Aconite 3x or Belladonna 3 or Chamomilla 6 is very effective.
- If toothache occurs due to constipation, patient should use Nux-vom 6, Pulsatilla 6, Bryonia 3, Mercurius 3 or Arsenic 6 should be used. These drugs help to cure constipation and then toothache.
- Taking Chamomilla 6, mother tincture of Ars 30 or Plante, etc. is very useful in the condition of neuralgic toothache.
- If toothache aggravates due to eating or drinking hot things, taking Chamomilla 6, Bryonia 3 or Antim-crude 6 is very useful.
- If toothache is aggravated due to getting cold, using any of the drug among Aconite 3x, Arsenic 30 and Rhododendron 3x, etc. is very effective.
- If toothache ameliorates due to taking hot things, using the powder of Magnesia-phos 3x is very effective.
Some tips for avoiding toothache:-
- To protect the teeth from decaying, loose and other disease, use of tobacco and pan masala (scented tobacco eaten with betel leaf) is harmful. These things help in thickening of dirt on the teeth and make them weak. Stop to take tobacco, pan masala (scented tobacco eaten with betel leaf), etc. to safe and strong the teeth.
- Grind chalk, betel, tea or alum, etc. to make fine powder and then cleaning the teeth with this powder is beneficial.
- If the teeth have come outside or having decay in them, patient should take coffee, sweets and tobacco, etc.
- If the teeth are loose and eaten food particles have stuck in between teeth, these particles should be removes with the help of small and thin stick (sik) by wrapping cotton on it and apply chloroform or Kreot with the help of cotton or rubbing spirit camphor or google on the gums provides relief from pain.
- In the case of acute toothache, boil guava leaves in water and then gargle with this water provides relief from pain.
- Taking too cold and too hot things is harmful in the condition of toothache.
