Peritonitis

The difference between stomach and abdomen is that the stomach is an organ in which food goes after that it has to pass through duodenum, small intestine, large intestine. There is a big mucus membrane (layer) that remains cover all these organs, called 'Peritoneum'. When this membrane gets swelling, it is called peritonitis. 

Cause:-

Mostly, this disease occurred due to getting hurt on the stomach, but it can be also due to getting cold. Sometimes, it can also occur after the surgery of the stomach or the surgery of appendicitis. Dropsy can also follow this disease. 

Symptoms:-

In the condition of this disease, the sufferer feels pain in the stomach and sometimes vomiting too. The following symptoms are also found in the patient like-fever, getting cold and persists the problems of constipation, etc.

Treatment in the case of acute peritonitis:-

1. Aconite- If peritonitis has occurred due to getting cold with fever in its initial stage, feeling nervous, feeling pain by touching his stomach, feeling difficulty in breathing (breathing impairment), etc., using Aconite 30 is very useful to cure this disease in this stage.
2. Ferrum-phos- If peritonitis patient has the following symptoms like- persisting fever in the initial stage of this disease, feeling nervousness, feeling pain by touching the stomach, feeling difficulty in breathing (breathing impairment), etc., using Ferrum-phos 6x is appropriate to cure such patient. It should be used at an interval of every 2-2 hours until the symptoms become less aggravative.
3. Sulphur-  If Aconite makes no impression in peritonitis within 24 hours, use Sulphur 30.
4. Belladonna-If the stomach of peritonitis patient has swollen like dhol or he feels as if a part inside the stomach has hammered with a nail or the intestine in front of the stomach is looking as protuberance and fever has occurred too, pain is paining in the stomach, etc., taking Belladonna 3 or 30 is beneficial to cure this stage. 
5. Bryonea- If the peritonitis patient has the following symptoms like- feeling slanting pain in the entire body, feeling violent thirst, pain by touching the stomach, etc., Bryonea 30 should be used to cure such symptoms of the patient.
6. Cantharis- Cantharis 6 or 30 is used when patient has the following symptoms like- occurring peritonitis with starting secretion from it, low fever with slight pain, feeling burning sensation from the throat to the anus, etc.
7. Lycopodium- If the stomach of peritonitis patient has inflated due to gas presents inside it and feeling the stomach as if it is filled with gas that is responsible for rumbling sound in the stomach, has also suffering from constipation, the stomach has been paining after becoming tough, brown coloured spots have appeared on the stomach, etc., taking Lycopodium 30 or 200 is very effective.

Treatment of chronic peritonitis with different drugs:-

1. Merc-dulsis- If secretion is thick (concentrated) with stomach inflammation in the case of peritonitis, use 5 grane of Merc-dulsis 3x at an interval of every hour.
2. Merc-sol- If the peritonitis patient has the following symptoms like- pus starts to form after swelling and the stomach stretches, sweating, loose motions, having fever with the feeling of cold, etc., use Merc-sol 30 to cure this disease.
3. Lackesis- If the peritonitis patient is not able to tolerate even a little touch, Lackesis 30 can be used to cure his disease.
4. Apis- If any part of the body secretes secretion even after curing the symptoms of peritonitis, using Apis 3x at an interval of every 2-2 hours is beneficial.

Treatment of puerperal peritonitis with different drugs:-

1. Aconite- If a woman has suffered from puerperal peritonitis with the following symptoms like- pain in the stomach, restlessness and fever, etc., to cure the disease of such woman, Aconite 30 should be used.
2. Bryonea- If the patient has the following symptoms related with peritonitis like- feeling violent paining like incision (cutting pain) that becomes aggravative even after little movement, he gets relief from pain by lying down on the painful side, feeling violent thirst, etc., to cure such symptoms of the patient, Bryonea 30 should be used.

Treatment of tubercular peritonitis with different drugs:-

1. Vaccilinum- If T.B. patient has suffered from peritonitis, take Vaccilinum 200 once in a week to cue this disease.
2. Arsenic- If T.B. patient has suffered from peritonitis with the following symptoms like- feeling restlessness, thirst, nervousness, pain in the stomach by coughing or laughing and feels as if boils have appeared in the stomach, feeling burning sensation in the stomach and feeling relief by fomentation on the stomach, etc., taking Arsenic 30 is very useful to cure this disease.
3. Abrotenum- If tough nodes have appeared on everywhere in the stomach, the stomach throbs and feels as if the lower parts of the body becomes weak, sometimes, the patient starts on suffering from loose motions and sometimes he starts suffering from constipation, etc., to cure the disease of such patient, using Abrotenum 3 or 30 is very effective.
4. Calcarea-carb- If the small intestine and the peritoneum, where glands are located, have become swollen or become toughed, Calcarea-carb 30 should be used.
5. Sulphur- If the well chosen drugs make no impression in the case of peritonitis, use Sulphur 30 for a week and then use appropriate drugs to cure this disease.
