When the middle muscles of the ribs especially of the left part of the rib cage becomes sick, it is called 'Pleurodynia'.
Use of different drugs in Pleurodynia:-
1. Quilus-bulb:- If a person feels pain in his chest due to movement, by exhaling and by coughing, etc., it is considerable as pleurodynia. Thus, giving Quilus bulb 3 or 30 to the patient is very useful in such symptoms of the disease.
2. Aconite:- The patient is suffering from fever generated by exposure to cold, restlessness all the time, pain in the muscles between the rib-cage due to any movement of it, etc. thus, Aconite 30 should be given in this condition. This drug can be taken several times in a day. Aconite 3 or 6 should be given at an interval of every 1-1 hour and Aconite 30 at an interval of every 4-4 hours.
3. Kali-carb:- The patient feels pain in the whole chest like pricking needle; pain is aggravated by lying down on the bed in the evening due to inhaling. Thus, giving Kali-carb 30 provides relief in such symptoms of the patient.
4. Exclepiyas-tuberosa:- It acts better on the muscles of the chest. The left chest feels pain which is ameliorated by bending forwards (bowing), pain occurs in the ribs, etc. thus, giving 1st potency of this drug provides relief.
5. Chelidonium:- If pain occurs in the left side of the chest, Chelidonium 1 should be given at an interval every 1-1 hour.
6. Ranunculus bulbosus:- Ranunculus bulbosus 3 or 30 should be given in the condition of pain in between ribs, in the part below both the ribs of the chest due to intercostals rheumatism, chest pain like needle pricking, and pain between the scapulas (bones between shoulders), pain due breathing, walking or any types of movement, pain below the scapulas, etc.
7. Actaea racemosa (Cimicifuga):- The chest of the patient feels pain and sadness. If it is not due to any other reasons, but only due to mental disturbances or ailing of the womb, giving Actaea racemosa (Cimicifuga) 3 is beneficial.
8. Arsenic:- If all the above drugs make no impression, taking Arsenic 30 is very useful.
