Plumb is used to cure paralysis occurring due to weakness and thinness. Phos is used in paralysis occurring by T.B. Baryta-carb is used in the paralysis occurring in the old age. Addition to these drugs, Merc-cor, Coffee and Conium can be also used.
Paralysis is the disease of the nervous systems.
- Sensory paralysis:- In this case, the affected part is lost his strength of doing any work, moving and touch sensation. He has no sensation of feeling when anyone touches his skin. The part of his body goes on moving or hanging by itself and patient is unable to stop it.
- Motor paralysis:- In this case, the patient has no strength to move his affected body parts. He can not walk and move. He has no strength for lifting any object even he is not able to change his side on the bed. There is no any move found in the patient suffering from this type of paralysis.
Drugs that are used in different types of paralysis:-
- In the case of hemiplegia, Nux-vomica or Phosphorus is used. Nux-vomica is used in the condition of hemiplegia occurring due to weakness of the vertebral marrow. Arnica and Lachesis are used in the case of left hemiplegia.
- In the case of facial paralysis, drugs like- Baryta-carb, Causti, Bell and Acon, etc. are used. Anyone of these drugs can be used.
- In the case of paralysis of the upper eyelids, anyone of the following drugs like Gels, Spigelia, Bell, Strago, etc. can be used.
- Gels or Conium is used in the case of paralysis related to diphtheria.
- In the case of paralysis of the artists, drugs like- Opi, Iod, Cuprum-met, Ars, Alumen or Stannum, etc. are used.
- If paralysis occurs due to weakness of the vertebral marrow, taking Alumina, Arg-ni, Ars, Arum or Phos, etc. are very effective.
- If paralysis attacks due to disordering in the nerves of other organs of the body, Sepia, Sulphur, Kali-carb, Phosphorus or Lathyrus, etc. are used.
- Using anyone of these drugs like- Phospho, Ars, Baryta, Calca-carb, etc. is beneficial in the case of infantile paralysis.
Disease and drugs used in it:-
1. Tarentula-Cubensis or Merc-vivus- In the case of paralysis that occurs with tremor in the hands and legs, Tarentula-Cubensis 2 or Merc-vivus 2 should be taken. In such type of paralysis, Hyos 3 and Antim-tart 30 are also used.
2. Plumbum- This drug is used in the paralysis of the whole body especially in which the patient feels weakness in his body. Taking Plumbum 6 is very effective in such type of paralysis.
3. Belladonna:- If paralysis attacks due to congestion of blood in the brain, Belladonna 3 should be taken. If pain like arthritis occurs in the thigh of paralysis patient; having lack of vision; is not able to walk due to pain and numbness and feels urine again and again at night, etc., taking Belladonna 3 is appropriate.
4. Opium- In the case of paralysis, if patient feels sleepy like unconsciousness and the face is turned black, Opium is very effective is such symptoms of the patient.
5. Bell, Agaricus, Phos, Merc-cor, Cannabis-Indica- If a person has paralysis with insanity, he should take anyone of following drugs like- Bell 3, Agaricus 30, Phos 3, Merc-cor 3 or Cannabis-Indica 3, etc.
6. Arnica- If paralysis has attacked by getting hurt, taking Arnica 6 is very effective.
7. Hydrophobinum- If a person has the symptoms of acute paralysis especially in the lower organs of the body, for the treatment of such symptoms, taking Hydrophobinum 30 is very effective.
8. Phosphorus or Plumbum- If curviness is found in the growing muscles with paralysis, for the treatment of such symptoms, Phosphorus 3 or Plumbum 6 should be used.
9. Causticum- To cure facial, pharynx or bladder paralysis, taking Causticum 6 or 30 is very effective.
10. Aconite- If the whole body of a person becomes insensitive in the condition of paralysis and does have the feeling of touch on his skin but he goes on feeling pain like pricking needle in his organs; he feels insensitiveness in the obsessed part; sometimes he feels as if the half part of the body is not functioning, etc., taking Aconite 3 is very useful in such symptoms. This drug is also used in the case of acute paralysis or paralysis that occurs due to exposure to dry wind.
11. Rhus-tox- For the treatment of paralysis of the lower organs of the body, Rhus-tox 30 should be used.
12. Sulphur- If paralysis occurs due to appearing eruptions on the body as measles, taking Sulphur 6 is very useful.
13. Phosphorus- If hoarseness or paralysis has occurred due to weakness coming by additional emissions, taking Phosphorus 6 or 30 is very effective.
14. Gelsemium- In the condition of paralysis of the fingers or shivering in them, Gelsemium 2x or 30 should be used for the treatment.
15. Cocculus- In the case of paralysis, if the sufferer feels pain with pricking thorns (spines) but does not have touch sensation, he should take Cocculus 6 or 200. This drug is also used in the condition of hemiplegia with producing crackling sound in the joints.
16. Conium- In the case of paralysis attack in the old age, using Conium 6 is very effective.
17. Gelsemium- In the case of paralysis of the eyelids, Gelsemium 1 is used.
18. Nux-vomica- If paralysis attacks in the spinal cord due to taking additional liquor and other symptoms are also found like- vomiting, constipation, lack of appetite (anorexia), etc., taking Nux-vomica 3x or its mother tincture is very effective.
Symptoms of few drugs:-
Tarentula 6 or 30 can be used to cure paralysis occurring with shivering. Stricbia-phosphorus 2x or 3x is used to cure disease after occurring stimulation in the nerves.
Other treatment with the use of different drugs:-
Taking bath with sea water is beneficial in this disease and if sea water is not available, bathing with cold water after adding little salt in it is very useful. In the condition of paralysis, pressing hands and legs and massaging the whole body is very effective. The paralysis patient should also take exercise because it removes numbness.
Acute ascending motor paralysis:-
1. Conium- If paralysis attack starts from the lower part and is moved to the upper part of the body and when the patient closes his eyes, sweating starts and feels vertigo by moving his head, etc., giving Conium 30 at an interval of every 1-1 hour is very useful.
2. Gelsemium- If the whole body of the patient has become loose due to attack of paralysis and patient starts stumbling after walking little as if he has no strength for walking; when he lies down quietly, has no any troubles but as just he move his body, fast shivering starts in the body, etc., any potency between Gelsemium 3 to 30 can be given. If the patient feels tiredness and lack of strength in all his body part; insensitiveness of the muscles, etc., taking this drug is also very effective.
Paraplegia:-
1. Manganum:- If the patient thinks as if he will walk slowly, he will be fallen down; he feels much weakness in his legs; he walks by bending himself forward so that he did not fall down, etc., taking Manganum 3x is very effective in such symptoms.
2. Arnica and Arnica-liniment:- If paraplegia has occurred due to injury, Arnica 200 or 1m should be taken and Arnica-liniment should be rubbed for 8-10 minutes on the affected part twice a day. In the condition of paralysis generated due to injury, first of all, Aconite 200 should be given and then giving Arnica 1m after 1 hour is beneficial.
3. Hypericum and Hypericum-liniment- If arnica is failed in paralysis, Hypericum 30 should be taken and then Hypericum-liniment should be applied on the affected part.
4. Gelsemium- In the condition of paralysis occurring due to getting hurt, giving Gelsemium 30 is appropriate after Arnica or Hypericum.
5. Lathyrus- Lathyrus 3 should be taken in the condition of stiffness of the legs, the legs quarrel with each other, patient is neither able to stretch his legs nor put one leg on the other while sitting, etc. after this drug, Secale cor 1 is used at an interval of every 4-4 hours.
6. Rhus-tox- If paraplegia has occurred due to arthritis; he feels restlessness; patient gets relief from pain till he is in motion and as soon as he becomes move less, pain starts again, etc., Rhus-tox 30 should be taken to cure such symptoms.
7. Kali-Iod- If paraplegia has occurred after syphilis, Kali-Iod 3 should be taken at an interval of every 4-4 hours.
Paralysis agitans:-
1. Gelsemium- If shivering starts in the legs; weakness is feeling in the legs and patient stumbles while walking; feels lethargy all the time; he does not feel thirst; paralysis attacks on the muscles of the eyes, the throat, the pharynx, the hands and the legs, etc., Gelsemium 30 should be used. This drug can be also used in paralysis that attacks after diphtheria. If paralysis has attacked in cold natured person due to several diseases related to cold or moist, treatment of such patient with Gelsemium is very useful.
2. Argentums-nitricum- If the patient goes on huffing in the condition of paralysis; the body feels weakness; the calves become weak and are stiffed; he stumbles due to weakness in the legs; the arms become insensitive, etc., taking Argentum-nitricum 3 to 30 is very effective. If paralysis has occurred after diphtheria or after living (passing, leading) sensual life, taking this drug is very useful. It is given to the hot natured person. If a cold natured person has such symptoms, Gelsemium should be given to him.
3. Agaricus- After paralysis attacks, little itching sensation occurs, shivering starts in the body and feels as if the obsessed part has frozen by cold; the whole body of the patient is stiffed and when leg is put on another, they become insensitive. Thus, Agaricus 3, 30 or 200 should be used.
4. Phygostigma- If the patient feels sudden shock while sleeping; the whole body feels heart beats; heart palpitation is felt in the chest, the thorat and the head, etc., Phygostigma 30 should be taken in such symptoms.
5. Merc-vivus- If paralysis has occurred due to poison of suppressed gonorrhea or suppression of sweat and patient does able to tolerate cold or hot, etc., Merc-vivus 30 should be taken.
6. Strychaninum- If the affected part has stiffed, has curved with shivering, etc., he should take Strychaninum 3 to 30.
Facial paralysis:-
1. Aconite- If one side of the face or the whole face has affected by paralysis due to exposure to cold, Aconite 3 to 30 should be used. In this condition, if he feels as if something is crawling on the face, Cadmium should be taken instead of Aconite.
2. Causticum- If Aconite makes no impression in above symptoms, taking Causticum is very useful. Paralysis of the right side of the face that starts from the head and is moved to the chin, treatment of such paralysis with this drug is very useful.
3. Graphites- Half facial paralysis in which patient feels as if spider web has stuck on the face; the facial muscles are curved that makes the face oblique and he is not able to speak anything. Thus, Graphites 30 should be taken.
4. Secale cor- The face becomes yellow; convulsions starts from the face and is moved to the entire body. First of all, paralysis attacks on the face then the face becomes cut and tears; the patient’s face change its condition; blue spots are fallen on the face. Thus, Secale cor 30 should be taken.
5. Nitric-acid- Black eruptions are fallen on the face; the eyes are swollen from all around; eruptions also appear on the head; blisters are fallen in the mouth; patient is not able to climb on the height; feels short breathing. Thus, taking Nitric-acid 30 should be taken.
6. Hyoscyamus- If the patient is not able to speak due to paralysis, he should take Hyoscyamus 30.
Hemiplegia:-
1. Baryta-carb- This drug has known to be very useful especially in the case of paralysis of the children and the old. Paralysis attacks on the left parts of the body due to physical and mental weakness. In this paralysis, the parts from the knee to the testicles become insensitive but when patient sit then his insensitiveness is removed, the sole and the thumb feel pain while walking. Thus using Baryta carb 3 to 30 is very effective.
2. Arum-met- This drug is used in the attack of paralysis of the left parts of the body. The heart beat becomes fast, pain starts in the joints and other organs. Patient remains sad and hopeless all the time. Weakness comes in the organs. When the patient put off his clothes, feels pain. Thus, he should take Arum-met 30.
3. Lachesis- This drug is known to be very useful in the hemiplegia (attacks in the left part). In this paralysis, affects of this disease starts from the left part and can move to the right part. Patient feels pain and speaks slowly. The muscles are stiffed and feel as if the body organs have become short. Thus, using Lachesis 30 is very effective. This drug is also very useful in hemiplegia that attacks after diphtheria.
4. Carboneum Sulphur- If hemiplegia has occurred after sudden unconsciousness, using Carboneum Sulphur 1 is very effective.
5. Lycopodium- Numbness starts from the right part and is moved to the left part in the initial stage of hemiplegia of the right part. The symptoms of disease aggravates from 4 to 8 o’clock in the evening. Thus, for the treatment of such symptoms, using Lycopodium 30 is very useful.
6. Gelsemium- If the body muscles do not work well; the parts are fallen loose and feels heavy. Normally, this type of paralysis occurs due to mental anxiety like- fear, terror or by hearing any bad news. In this condition, patient feels pain in the back part of his head; the face becomes insensitive; shivering occurs and the patient becomes unable to speak. Thus, using Gelsemium 30 is very effective.
7. Nux-vomica- If paralysis attacks due to over eating, taking additional liquor, doing hard physical work or due to wetting, etc., taking Nux-vomica 30 is very effective. In the case of such paralysis, if cramping pain starts in the calves and the sole. The legs and the arms become insensitive, patient goes on stumbling while walking and feels lack of strength in his hands and legs in the morning, etc., taking Nux-vomica 30 provides relief in this disease.
8. Causticum- This drug can be used in all types of paralysis. Taking Causticum 30 or 200 is beneficial in hemiplegia, paralysis agitans or paralysis of the left parts, the right parts, the upper parts, the lower parts, etc.
