Elephantiasis

This disease is kept on the top in all the diseases related to leprosy. It is called elephantiasis. 

Causes: 

This disease occurs on such places where rain water remains for long days or water remains there in all the seasons or there is humidity. Mostly, this disease is seen in Bengal and Orisa. 

Symptoms: 

Swelling comes on the abdomen and root of the thighs, which reaches to the feet of the victim progressively in the disease named Elephantiasis. Because of which, foot of the victim becomes thick due to swelling. Symptoms of fever are also found in the patient of elephantiasis. 

Meals and abstinence: 

Old saanthi rice, barley, parval, garlic, cow urine, castor oil and such things should be taken which increase appetite.

Jiggery, sweets, milk, heavy foodstuffs and rivers water should not be used at any rate. 

Treatment of Elephantiasis by different drugs:- 

Hydrocotyle Asiatica-

  • If the skin becomes too thick and becoming the skin like elephant’s leg, Hydrocotile Asiatica 1, 2, 3 or 1m should be used.
  • This drug can be also used for the treatment of symptoms like- forming scabs on the thick skin; the skin of the back, hand, leg, palm, sole, etc. become thick with appearing round spots on them; the skin of the testicle becomes thick, enlarged; the legs become thick, etc. 
  • This drug is also very useful in the cases like- elephantiasis, leprosy, lepra tuberculosis, lups exdense, chronic eczema, etc.
  • If the skin has become thick due to skin disease like- appearing small pimples on the skin in large quantity, appearing pink coloured pimples on the face and accumulation of blood, etc., treatment by this drug is very useful.
