Epilepsy

Epilepsy occurs due to several reasons, but mainly it is hereditary. It is transferred from the parents to their children. Mostly, epilepsy has found in those children whose parents take additional liquor. If a child has convulsions, later it is more possibility of occurring epilepsy in that child. The possibility of attacking this disease is more in the age of 25 years. Patient feels air waves rising from the fingers, hands, the stomach, the throat, etc. at the time of epilepsy attacks. In such attack, first of all, air waves rises from the stomach suddenly and then he cries and fall down with unconsciousness; the jaws lock; foam begins to come out from the mouth; the organs begins to shiver and after attack, he feels strength less. 

Cause:- 

Epilepsy occurs due to taking poison, getting hurt on the brain while delivery, occurring infectious disease, getting hurt on the head, by over weakness, over masturbation, taking liquor, indigestion and by stomach worms, etc.

It is also generated by taking additional intoxicating material, but mostly it is hereditary, means, if the parents have been suffering from this disease, their children are also affected by this disease. 

Symptoms:- 

• At the time of epilepsy attacks, patient feels suddenly as if cold air waves are rising from the body and then he feels convulsions and cramps in his body and becomes unconscious.
• The eyes become wide in this disease; foam begins to come out from the mouth; the eyelids become heavy.
• In this disease, he feels rising cold air waves from the navel, reproductive organs and other organs; the body is stiffed;
• the face becomes red;
• feels crawling sensation on the arms;
• cramping pain occurs; pain like jerk starts in the hands and legs and slant the eyeballs.
• After ending of such attacks, patient feels weakness or symptoms like paralysis are found. He does not know what happened during epilepsy attacks. 

Treatment of epilepsy with different drugs:- 

1. Sulphur:- 

• Sulphur should be used in the condition of feeling as if something is crawling on the arms. 
• If epilepsy attacks due to suppression of any type of eruption, Sulphur 30 or 200 should be used. 
• This drug should be also taken in the condition of epilepsy attacks generating due to fear, fright, over sexual intercourse etc. If this drug makes no impression in such case, Calcarea should be given to the patient. 

2. Ignatia:- 

• In the case of epilepsy attacks, patient should take Ignatia 200. 
• Sulphur, Calcarea, Lycopodium, Causticum and Cuprum etc. can be also used in this disease. 
• If epilepsy attacks due to hearing whirr sound in the ears; having pain in piles by walking and moving; getting relief in the swelling of tonsils by swallowing food; in sad; by laughing loudly; by cough; feeling cold with thirst in fever; having no thirst when fever is raised; changing the facial color while taking rest; impotency etc., taking Ignatia 200 cures disease. 
• If epilepsy occurs due to fear, over sadness and pain etc., this drug is used. 

3. Cuprum:- 

• Cuprum is very useful in the condition of convulsions and epilepsy. 
• In epilepsy, if air waves have risen from the knee and moved to the lower section of the stomach and patient is fallen down after becoming unconscious. Foam begins to come out from the patient’s mouth; the muscles start shivering; cramps occurs in the calves and the palate; fingers and thumbs become tight etc., taking Cuprum 6 or 30 is very effective. 
• If epilepsy attacks in moon day (lunar day), Luna should be taken instead of Cuprum. 
• If epilepsy patient feels strain in his body and his face has changed into blue, Cuprum 3x, 6 or 30 should be used. 

4. Artemisia:- 

• If epilepsy attacks again and again, and occurs due to rear, sadness, depression, head injury, abnormal menstrual secretion, by troubles occurring while dentition etc., taking Artemisia 2x is very effective. 
• In the condition of epilepsy occurring due to stomach worms or terrible excitement etc., using Artemisia 2x is beneficial. In this disease, taking this drug with grapes or wine prepared by its juice is beneficial. 

5. Cicuta-

• If contraction occurs due to excess fear especially in the children, using Cicuta 6 is beneficial. 

6. Calcarea carb:- 

• If the epilepsy patient feels as if a rat is crawling on his arms; the air waves rise up from the upper section of the stomach and are moved to the womb or other organs; if epilepsy attacks due to fear or any sad incident, he should take calcarea-carb. 
• This drug is also used in the condition of profuse sweating on the throat and the head, delay dentition. This drug does not cure the disease directly. So, this drug helps to change the nature of the disease and provides benefits. 

7. Ignatia-

• If epilepsy occurs due to mental disordering like- depression, fear etc. or have symptoms of unconsciousness, taking Ignatia 6 is very effective. 

8. Opium-

• In the case of chronic epilepsy, if strain occurs in the body; patient cries before being unconscious and remains in this condition for a long time; foam comes out from his mouth; the eyes remain open, swell or the eyeballs are contracted etc., taking Opium 6 is very effective. 

9. Buffo:-

• This drug is used in the attacks of epilepsy that occurs due to excess masturbation or by over sexual excitement. If epilepsy attacks in a person while masturbation, he should take Buffo. 
• Buffo 6 should be also used in the case of epilepsy occurring due to excessive masturbation. It is also used in chronic epilepsy. 

10. Inanthi-

• crocata- In the initial stage of acute epilepsy of a young people, if the patient feels strain in his body; the body is stiffed and foam comes out from the mouth etc., he should take Inanthi-crocata 3x or 3. 

11. Silicea- 

• If a person feels air waves rising from the navel region in the condition of epilepsy attacks; the symptoms of disease aggravates or ameliorates with the phases of the moon.
• The symptoms start to aggravate before raising the moon and in full moon day.
• The patient’s body becomes weak, thin and long; the entire body secretes sweat; sweat has offensive smell; the head feels too big; offensive sweat also comes from the legs; the patient remains nervous all the time;
• he becomes irritable temperament and epilepsy starts to attack etc. thus, taking Silicea 30 or 200 is very effective.
• If the epilepsy patient has sweat only on his head and little boils and pimples are appeared etc., Calcarea should be taken for its treatment. 

12. Cannabis-Indica-

• If a person has the disordering of the duodenum, the bladder or the reproductive organs with epilepsy, taking Cannabis-Indica 1x or 3 is beneficial. 

13. Artemisia vulgaris-

• Taking Artemisia vulgaris 1 or 3 is very effective to cure infantile convulsions and epilepsy occurring in the young women. If epilepsy attacks due to afraid, having fear about any incident, mental excitement and by masturbation etc., Artemisia vulgaris 1 or 3 should be taken. It is very effective in those who have epilepsy attack again and again. 

14. Cicuta Virosa-

• If the body stiff suddenly, the organs throb and in the last, patient becomes unconscious with strength less etc., using Cicuta Virosa 6, 30 or 200 is very effective. 

15. Acid-hydro-

• In the condition of epilepsy, the eyeballs become wide, the eyes become stable and feel as if the eyelids have become heavy and then patient becomes unconscious after cry. Foam begins to come out from the mouth etc., taking Acid-hydro 3x is very effective for the patient. 

16. Belladonna:- 

• This drug is very useful in epilepsy. It has property to cure this disease completely. If any type of eruptions have suppressed in the case of children and due to which, they have the symptoms of convulsions or unconsciousness, this drug is very effective in this case. It is also given in the condition of epilepsy that occurs with the convulsions of the hands and is moved to the face, the eyes, the mouth etc. 
• If the patient’s eyes seems bright red; the face has become red; the eyes have become wide; feels burning sensation inside; does not able to tolerates bright light and startle again and again etc., he should take Belladonna 1x. 

17. Hydrocyanic Acid-

• This drug should be used in the case of epilepsy attacks. 

18. Kali-cyanatum-

• Taking Kalli-cyanatum 3 is very effective in the condition of unconscious after attacking epilepsy; in the fast strain or stiffness in the body; becoming the body blue and having difficulty in breathing etc. 

19. Nux-vomica- 

• If the patient feels as if air waves have rise up from the navel region before epilepsy attacks; the patient becomes irritable temperament and starts to become angry even on small topics and if this disease has started due to constipation etc., taking Nux-vomica 30 or 200 is very effective. 

Few other drugs that are used in epilepsy:- 

• Acute epilepsy- Arg-ni 6, Kali-brom-30, Absinthayam 3, Stramonium 3, Hyos 6 and Zizia 2x, etc. 
• Chronic epilepsy- Plumbum 30, Agaricus 6, Zincum-phos 3, Silica 30 or Sulphur 30, etc. 
• Epilepsy that occurs due to lack of sperm- Acid-phos 6, China 6, Phosphorus 6 or Ferrum 6, etc. 
• Epilepsy that occurs due to fear- Opium 30 or Aconite 3x, etc. 
• Common epilepsy- Kali-mur 12x, powder of Kali-sulph 12 or Kali-phos 12x, etc. 

Use of different drugs in few important epilepsy:- 

Acute epilepsy- Kali-brom, Ignatia or Acid-hydro, etc. taking any of these drugs is beneficial. 

Chronic epilepsy- drugs like- Belladonna, Cuprum-seset, Inanthi-croreta, Plumbum, Calca-carb, Sulph or Hydriad, etc. should be used for the treatment of chronic epilepsy. 

If epilepsy has occurred due to stomach worms, Philiphus 3x, Teucrium 6, Cina 2x or powder of Sentonine 2x, etc. should be used. 

Drugs like Acid-phos, China, Acid-sulph, Phosphorus or Ferrum, etc. should be used in epilepsy that occurs due to excessive masturbation. 

Taking Aconite or Opium is very effective in epilepsy occurring due to fear. 

Important tips about treatment of epilepsy:- 

If the patient’s tongue has come out, pussing his tongue inward is appropriate. Put a soft piece of wood or a small lump of cloths between both the jaws. Keeps the patient in clean place having fresh air for giving him rest and keep Amyl-nitrate near his nose. Chloroform should be used if necessary. 

Food and abstinence:- 

Taking stimulant food, taking over intoxicating materials, reading sexual books, etc. is very harmful in this disease. Taking pure, light, easily digestible vegetarian food and doing fast and taking bath with cold water are appropriate.
