FELON (WHITLOW)

When this disease occurs, pus is formed in the fingers or the area near the thumb’s nail due to which, the patient has to face more troubles. Slowly, it is burst and if it does not burst, patient feels unbearable pain. If this disease is treated on (proper) time, it is cured. 

Cause:- 

This disease occurs due to cutting the nails very short, hurting the nails by any way, burning nails or due to mixing any poisonous substance in the blood (blood poisoning), etc. 

Treatment of this disease by following drugs: 

1. Silicea-

  • If Silicea 30 is used in the initial stage of this disease, disease stops multiplying and patient gets benefits. In this disease, if patient feels cutting pain in the fingers and feels as if disease did not cure, pus will form in the fingers. Due to this disease, patient feels fast pain in his fingers by which he starts to cry also. Thus, Silicea 30 can be used. 
  • In the case of fielon, fingers should be immersed in hot salty water and Silicea 3x should be taken. 
  • Silicea 3x or 30 should be taken with fomentation by hot water in the first stage of this disease or when the affect of pain is reached to the bones. 

2. Dioscorea- The patient feels pricking pain in his fingers and pus begins to form in the fingers. Dioscorea 30 is used in such symptoms. This drug is very useful in the initial stage of disease. 

3. Bufo- When this disease occurs, patient feels violent pain on the nails that is raised to the upper arms. Pain occurs deeply inside the fingers. The area around the nail becomes blue and swelled. Thus, using Bufo 6 is beneficial in this stage. 

4. Lachesis- When the patient’s fingers has become blue and swollen, taking Lachesis 30 is very useful. 

5. Fluoric acid- The patient’s thumb and fingers become swell with the feeling of burning pain. He feels as if khapachi is pricking below the nail. Thus, using Fluoric acid 6 or 30 is beneficial to cure this disease. 

6. Mieristica Sebiphera- The patient feels pain in the nails with the swelling of its small bones. In this stage, using Mieristica Sebiphera is very effective. In the condition of feeling stiffness of the hands and pain by cutting anything by his hands for a long time, Mieristica Sebiphera is very useful. 

7. Hepar-sulph- Using Hepar-sulph 30 is very effective in the cases of violent burning sensation in the fingers with pain, much troubles at night, sleeplessness, patient has to up his hands so that blood circulation is decreased in that part and pain ended, etc. 

8. Natrum mur- Taking Natrum mur 30 is beneficial in the swelling with pain of ‘Han ail’ (the area where nail and flesh meet to each other). 

9. Belladonna

  • To cure fielon, using Belladonna 6 is beneficial.
  • If the front part of the finger feels pain with burning sensation after swelling and becoming black, Arsenic 6 should be used, while if this part is changed into blue, Lachesis 6 should be used. 

10. Merc-sol- Merc-sol 6 can be used in the condition of feeling fast pain in the first stage of fielon.

11. Hepar-sulphur- Heper-sulph 6 can be used in the first stage of fielon to cure it.

12. Stramonium- If a person has suffered from fielon, using Stramonium 6 in its initial stage is beneficial.

13. Amon-carb- Using Amon-carb 500 in the formation of pus in the fingers and the thumb is very useful.

14. Boric-acid-

  • In the formation of pus in the fingers or the thumb, Boric-acid 6 can be used to treat this disease.
  • To cure fielon, using drugs as- Bryonia 6, Causticum 6, Ledum 3, Sanguinaria 1x, Graphites 6, Apis 3 or Anthracynum 30, etc. is very useful.
  • Pain of fielon is decreased by the use of the mother tincture of Phosphorus, Nitric-acid or Dioscorea, etc.

15. Other treatment:-

  • If pus is formed in wounds, first of all, remove pus well and then it should be treated.
  • Wounds should be washed with Calendula until it healed.
  • If well chosen remedy makes no impression, warm bandage of neem should be tied.
  • The patient should keep his hands after tying in such a way that fingers did not bend even after moving.
