In this disease, serous fluid collects in the pleural cavity on large scale.
Use of different drugs in the condition of Hydrothorax:-
- Apis:- In the case of Hydrothorax especially during heart disease in which, the patient is not able to sleep well, he feels suffocation, violent coughing until phlegm comes out, the patient believes that he can not alive due to disease. Thus, giving Apis 3x at an interval of every 4-4 hours is beneficial.
- Apocynum:- 10 drops of Apocynum juice should be given 3 times a day in the condition of filling water in any part of the body as- in the stomach, the chest; food is not able to digested properly and vomits as soon as eating food or taking tea; feels so tired as if he has do more hard works, etc.
- Digitalis:- If water becomes accumulative in any part of the body due to heart weakness, Digitalis proves very effective. In the beginning of using this drug, little reaction can be possible. The colour of the skin becomes blue due to swelling of the entire body, being accumulated water in the muscus membrane which covers the heart or in the chest, in the stomach, etc. thus, giving mother tincture or 3rd potency of Digitalis is beneficial.
- Ars Iodide:- If hydrothorax occurs due to any type of heart diseases, giving Ars Iodide 3x is very useful.
- Arsenic:- There can be two types of heavy breath in the condition of heart disease. First, in which blood is not able to reach in the lungs due to heart disease and second, in which heavy breath is due to hydrothorax. In this disease, the patient feels suffocation, disease gets aggravated at mid-night, on lying down,, etc., giving Arsenic 30 provides relief in such symptoms of the patient.
- Colchicum:- If hydrothorax ocurs due to retention of urine with some other symptoms as- blood comes with urine and the colour of it is black, etc., Colchicum 3 or 30 should be given in such symptoms.
- Lachesis:- In the condition of hydrothorax, urine is black, skin becomes blue, circulation of the blood is not proper, blood circulation towards the head is very high and the legs of the patient becomes cold, patient feels his heart as contracted, feels heavy chest when he wakes up, having difficulty in breathing, patient is not able to lying down, etc. all these symptoms are related to the heart. Giving Lachesis 30 is very effective in such symptoms of the patient.
- Kali-carb:- If the disease of the patient is aggravated at 3 o'clock in the morning and other symptoms found like- cough, asthma, tuberculosis, etc., Kali-carb 30 or 200 should be given.
- Mercurius Sulphurious:- If the patient is suffering from hydrothorax in the condition of liver or heart disease, Mercurius sulphurious 6 or 30 should be taken. By the use of this drug, loose motions like water takes place and the patient feels relief
