INTRODUCTION 

It is a great polychrest remedy mainly used for respiratory disorders, especially spasmodic coughs and laryngeal affections. :- HAHNEMANN SAYS, "Drosera is indicated when cough symptoms predominate, especially with a whooping or spasmodic character."

GUIDING SYMPTOMS

  • Spasmodic, barking, and suffocative cough; worse at night and after midnight.
  • Cough as soon as the head touches the pillow (Hyoscyamus, Belladonna).
  • Cough with bleeding from the nose and mouth (spitting of blood).
  • Cough aggravated by lying down, eating, or drinking.
  • Hoarseness, especially in singers, with deep, hoarse voice.
  • Sensation of a feather in the larynx that provokes cough (Causticum).
  • Expectoration of yellow, purulent, and sometimes blood-streaked mucus.
  • Pain and soreness in the chest while coughing, with a feeling of constriction.
