KEYNOTE SYMPTOMS
- Rapid emaciation despite good appetite
- Persistent burning in internal parts, esp. chest and stomach
- Chronic catarrhal inflammation, thick yellow mucus
- Constant discharge, acrid and corrosive
- Destructive processes – ulcers, glandular swellings, cachexia
CLINICAL INDICATIONS
Respiratory:
- Chronic bronchitis, especially in old people
- Tuberculosis, advanced stage, with night sweats, weakness, wasting
- Thick, yellow, gluey expectoration with marked dyspnea
- Persistent cough, especially worse at night
Glandular:
- Enlarged lymph nodes, hard and suppurating
- Scrofulous glands, abscesses that ulcerate
- Chronic skin ulcers with yellow discharge
Mind:
- Restlessness, similar to Arsenicum album
- Irritable, depressed, impulsive, suspicious
Generalities:
- Rapid weight loss, cachexia
- Burning pains, worse at night
- Great exhaustion after slight exertion
- Alternating symptoms: skin and respiratory affections
