Sphere of Action
Acts mainly on the urinary tract, especially the bladder and urethra. It irritates the mucous membrane of the urinary organs and produces bladder catarrh.

Urinary Tract Disorders
- Cystitis (inflammation of bladder)
- Frequent and painful urination, not relieved by voiding
- Constant fullness or pressure in bladder, even after urination
- Nocturnal enuresis in children with no known cause
- Incontinence of urine in old people or women after childbirth
- Pain in bladder extending to urethra and thighs
Urination Symptoms
- Severe dull pain in the bladder not relieved by urination
- Urine flows in drops, or scanty and high-colored
- Feeling of bladder distention despite frequent urination
Characteristic Symptoms
- Sensation of distended bladder, even after urination
- Sharp, burning, cutting pain in urethra during and after micturition
- Useful in prostatic troubles in old men with frequent urination
- Less urging but more bladder pain than Cantharis
