Sphere of Action
Acts intensely on the nervous system, circulatory system, blood, and female reproductive system. It affects vasomotor nerves, causing hemorrhages, septic states, congestions, and skin affections.

Mind
- Loquacious (talks continuously, jumps from topic to topic)
- Jealous, suspicious, and mistrustful
- Religious mania, clairvoyance
- Very melancholic, worse on waking
- Mental symptoms appear before physical complaints
Head
- Congestive headache with throbbing, bursting pain
- Pain from temple to temple, worse on left side
- Headache > after discharges (menses, nasal, etc.)
Face
- Face bluish, flushed, or mottled during complaints
- Left-sided facial neuralgia
Tongue
- Dry, black, trembling, darting in and out
- Tongue is difficult to protrude
Throat
- Extremely sensitive to touch—can’t bear even collars
- Throat pain begins on left, goes to right
- Worse from swallowing liquids than solids
Female
- Menopause: hot flushes, palpitations, fainting, loquacity
- Menses too short, suppressed, or too profuse
- Cannot bear tight clothes, especially around neck or waist
- Left ovary pains; uterus congestion; metrorrhagia
Circulatory
- Congestive headaches, hemorrhagic tendencies
- Purpura, varicose veins, thrombosis
- Septic states: post-surgery infections, wounds that turn bluish-purple
Respiratory
- Asthma worse after sleep
- Cough from touching throat or larynx
- Sensation of suffocation, especially during sleep
Skin
- Purplish-blue discoloration
- Small wounds bleed much
- Ulcers with bluish-black surroundings
