PHYSICAL MAKEUP- 

●Suited to lean, stoop-shouldered person

Guiding Symptoms + Keynotes

● It is great polychrest remedy, King of antipsoric remedy 

● Burning anywhere or everywhere on body general or local

● Burning aggravated by covering

● All discharges are acrid & offensive i.e.- Leucorrhoea, nasal discharge

● Patient comes with the history of suppression of skin disease

●  A weak empty all gone sensation in stomach, can’t wait for lunch

● Standing is most uncomfortable position for sulphur

● Though a hot patient yet persistently refuses to take bath 

● TRIOES OF BURNING – SULPHUR, ARSENIC, PHOSPHORUS

MIND SYMPTOMS

● Very forgetful; great weakness of memory for proper names.

● Very selfish, no regard for others.

● Dwells on religious or philosophical speculations.

● Strong tendency to weep. Timidity and great tendency to be frightened. Strong suicidal tendency.

● Everything looks pretty which the patient takes a fancy to; even rags seem beautiful.

● Difficult thinking. Delusions; that he is immensely wealthy.

● Busy all the time. Childish peevishness in grown up people, irritable.

● Averse to business, imagines giving wrong things to people, causing their death.

● The patient wears a paper crown, thinking he is his majesty, the king.

● Sensation of movement in the abdomen, as of a child.

● Nervous temperament and hypochondriacal nature.

● Happy dreams wake him up singing at night.

● Great obstinacy, dislikes having anyone near him.

● Dullness; misplaces or cannot find proper words when talking or writing.

● Vertigo while sitting or standing.

PHYSICAL GENERAL

◆Cravings: Intense craving for sweets, acid, alcohol, beer, whisky, etc.

◆Aversions: Great aversion to milk, meat and business.

◆Offensive: All discharges are dirty and very offensive.

◆Itching: Violent itching of skin at night, burning when scratched, the parts

are painfully sensitive to air, touch, washing.

◆Boils: Coming in crops in various parts of the body, or a single boil is

succeeded by another as soon as the first is healed.

◆Menses: Too early, profuse, protracted, ◆Menorrhagia; has not been well

since her last miscarriage.

◆Air hunger: Feels suffocated, wants doors and windows open, particularly

at night.

◆Congestion: Congestion of single parts like, eyes, nose, chest, etc.

◆Burning: Burning in various parts of the body. Constant heat on top of the

head, vertex with burning in soles and palms at night, wants to cool them so

puts them out of the bed..

SKIN

●Sulphur is indicated in all diseases of skin eruption, vesicular postural etc 

●Specially in suppressed skin disease by external application

●Dirty look of the skin 

●Very mach sensitive to atmosphere changes

●Does not like to washing & bathing 

●There is severe itching followed by severe burning, redness & soreness of part

RESPIRATORY

Causation – Suppression of skin disease

Sensation – Chest feels heavy

Cough Character – Loose cough with much rattling of mucus

Sputum Character – Greenish, purulent, sweetish

Pain character – Shifting pain in chest shooting brought the back dyspnoea in midnight with difficult respiration wants window opens

 

ABDOMEN 

●Weak, empty all gone sensation in 11AM

●Can’t wait for lunch

●Great desire of sweet

●Aggravation from milk & meat

DIARRHOEA

Causation – Suppression of skin disease & alcoholism

Character – Stool contains undigested particles; is whitish, greenish, Involuntary and

Painless diarrhoea.

-Very offensive and acrid. Diarrhoea alternates with constipation.

-It is worse in the morning at about four or five o’clock

General Modalities

●Aggravation: When standing, at rest, warmth of bed, washing, bathing,

changeable weather.

●Amelioration: Dry warm weather, lying on the right side, open air, motion.

●Aliments : Alcohol, Suppression of skin disease

S -  Standing is worse position for sulphur patient

U - Urine is painful to parts over which is passes

L - Leucorrhoea and menses are continually relapsing 

P - Parts around anus red and excoriated
