Gangrene

Necrosis or death of the tissue usually due to partial or complete absence of blood supply is called gangrene. Following are the kinds of gangrene.

Treatment of this disease by following drugs:

1. Secake cor:- This drug is used mostly on the blood circulatory systems. This drug is also used for the contraction of the womb (the outer skin of the embryo) after giving birth resulting stool is cleared. First effects of this drug fall on the contraction of the cells, and then on its circulation by which, blood becomes accumulative in the cells. In this way, due to accumulation of blood, that part of the body begins to decompose (gangrene). This type of situation mostly appears in the fingers. When this type of gangrene is occurred, itching sensation starts on that place like the symptoms of Arsenic. But, difference between them is- the sufferer gets relief by heat during use of Arsenic and by cold during use of Secale.
2. Arsenic:- This drug has known to be very effective in gangrene especially in dry gangrene occurred in old stage. If burning sensation and pain occur on the affected part and the patient gets relief by warm fomentation, he should take Arsenic 30 while if gangrene occurs with burning sensation and pain and the patient gets relief by cold, Secale is used. In the case of gangrene, if fibers of the swollen part begin to decompose with burning sensation and pain like scissors cut and patient feels as if fire is burning on the sick part that causes restlessness then using Arsenic is beneficial in such symptoms. This drug is also known to be very useful in carbuncle, fester, gangrene, etc. Arsenic is used in the violent symptoms of gangrene. So, it is not used in the common burning sensation of gangrene.If blue or black boils have erupted in the condition of gangrene and patient feels restlessness, Carbo veg should be used.
3. Carbo veg:- If the affected part has become cold like an ice and blue, offensive secretion begins from boils, burning sensation and pain occur and sweating from the legs, but restlessness is absent then using Carbo veg 30 is very effective in such symptoms. This drug is also used in the case of carbuncle, gangrene of old age that starts from the fingers and is moved to the upper parts of the body.
4. Echinacea:- This drug helps to purify blood. In the condition of blood poisoning, gangrene or septic, etc., 1 to 10 drops of its mother tincture should be taken at an interval of every 2-2 hours. Mix an equal quantity of this drug and water and then immerse a piece of cloth, now tie this cloth on the affected part.
5. Lachesis:- If the place of the body has become blue after erupting boils or injury and blue pus or blood is coming out from it, the edges of boils have erupted and bended to the opposite direction, the patient feels too cold and his hands and legs have become cold, etc., using Lachesis 30 or 200 is very effective. Lotion of Lachesis 6 should be applied on boils. Using Crotalus 3 or 6 is also very effective in such symptoms.
